I wonder why this happens?
I had a different comic earlier, but I was struck with a more Christmas-y idea this morning so I’ll be moving the original comic for later. I technically have a backlog for the first time in my life!!!
I did some Christmas-y themed art over at my tumblr: one was a hot Link (gift for a friend), and the other, my favorite legendary pokemon for the Pokeddex challenge.
Merry Christmas (to those of you that celebrate it!) Hope you are all having wonderful times with your friends and family.
Here’s some hiatus comics while I try to get ready for Chapter 2 of Herogirl.
So this Thanksgiving break I visited home and my mom informed me that we were having a mouse problem… I guess the mice like our not-that-much-warmer-than-outside garage. My mom bought some of those sticky-paper traps and set them out on the garage floor. We are all terrified of mice (particularly dead ones) and I’m not sure we planned ahead for what we would do once we actually caught one.
Also grandmas are the bomb.

Sorry for the constantly late/missing Herogirl comics, guys! Added a comic explaining my excuse about why I’m been so busy… school is really sucking up all my time! Also, about halfway through I drank a lot of coffee and that’s why all the lines are weird… sorry, haha.
I figured I should at least make a filler comic because I missed updating last time, so here we are! The Graphic Novel Society at UW was a club that I helped start a few years ago, and then I served as its president when the first president graduated… I still keep in contact with the current members and they’re doing great. It was awesome to be able to meet with a like-minded group of people every week and teach each other about what we know. I’m still looking for a group like that at Stanford… maybe I’ll start a branch of GNS here?
Earlier this week I happened to attend a short workshop with Bill Verplank. I sort of got distracted during it because of one of the techniques he showed us regarding how to draw people… and I ended up with these.
A filler comic this week! Why? Because I went camping this weekend and played a lot of this game.
But this happened a long time ago some July 4th celebration of times long gone. I’m planning on doing a double update with a comic related to the camping trip I was actually on.
You not Olympic style
Thanks Dad
(Apologies for the late comic! I’ve been busy moving and starting a summer job. Hopefully I can get back on schedule soon!)
Visiting home right now in between end of school and start of an internship, playing some good old SNES with my sister! Will be returning to a regularly scheduled Herogirl next week (hopefully!)
On Spring Break, so no regular Herogirl comic this week! Instead, here’s a special, two-for-one, really badly drawn comic!
I went with my sisters and some friends to a midnight showing of The Hunger Games. I was afraid it was going to be terrible, but it was a lot better than I thought it would be!
We got there early (like 9pm) and found that the auditorium was already filled with people just hanging out until the showing started. There was a girl behind us reading something out loud to her friends — it was The Hunger Pains, a parody of The Hunger Games, and it was so hilarious. It was partially because of the book itself, but the girl reading it was just a master at reading out loud. Thanks, strange girl. We’ve gone out and bought our own copy, and now we can make fun of The Hunger Games whenever we’d like. I may have to pick up the other Harvard Lampoon parodies sometime.
